'Remember not the events of the past ...'

In the first reading this week from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah, we hear the words, “Remember not the events of the past, The things of long ago consider not; see I am doing something new.” God is always doing something new in our lives. Each new day is His gift to us and every moment, a moment of grace. Let us begin each day with a morning prayer, thanking God, praising God and invoking God’s help for the challenges and opportunities that await us. Living each moment aware of the presence of God will fill us with hope, peace and joy. The same prophet has God saying to us, “you are mine, you are precious to me. I have carved you in the palm of my hand.” I hope we can always remember that.

I will be at the Prince of Peace Abbey in Oceanside this week making my annual retreat. Please pray for me, as I will for you.
