Religious are called to show how doing God's will brings joy, pope says

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — As those who dedicate their lives most completely and publicly to following Christ, consecrated men and women are called to show the world the fullness of joy and beauty that comes from seeking to do God's will, Pope Benedict XVI said.

Celebrating vespers with members of religious orders Feb. 2, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord and the World Day for Consecrated Life, the pope recited a special prayer to entrust members of religious orders and institutes to the protection of Mary "so that the church would be edified by their holiness of life."
